Leadership coaching is a relatively new term in the business world, but The Goodenough Company has been providing this individual counseling service for decades.
Organizations or companies hire us to help executives or senior-level employees develop specific skills, such as effective listening, meeting management, strategic and tactical goal setting and diversity/cultural awareness. Leadership coaching can be a very effective tool for navigating through big changes, such as structural reorganizations.
We work closely with leaders to first identify the specific issue and desired outcome. We then try to develop a trusting, counseling relationship with them, so that they are open to receiving feedback without feeling inadequate or threatened.
Surprisingly, very few team leaders and managers have been trained specifically in this area. Leadership is an art form in it’s own right. If someone lacks the experience, training and or natural skills, it can become very time-consuming and emotionally draining. We focus on building skills and confidence to allow leaders to be effective in their roles.
